I bought more for my kids and grandkids
This little speaker has absolutely lived up to the expectation! For a relatively small speaker, it gives great sound quality and volume. It pairs easily with mobile devices, and it's sturdy enough to handle being dropped and jostled around. Also, it might not be its biggest selling point, but I really love the little clip built into it that makes it easy to hang up in convenient places when there's no flat surface to set it on.
My hubs is using his a lot to listen to audiobooks at home, (he prefers "out loud" sound over earbuds) and the narration voices are clear and crisp. He's told me he loves it, and I'm not at all sorry not to have to share mine anymore. This little speaker is a great quality for its price- I highly recommend!
Dura mucho la pila
Auracast is what many in the outdoor "group" sports community have been waiting for. The Flip series is great but if you're carrying weight and you want to share your music, Flip (up until now) was the best option. Partyboost was cool. Auracast is cooler.
I purchased JBL Clip 5 and JBL Go 4 products together from this same vendor. They arrived quickly and well packaged.
They pair together and more than just stereo, which all the other manufacturers are quick to brag about: their "stereo" mode. But with the others, that's where it ends: two speakers max. I want 20 speakers. Enter JBL actually listening to their customer and bringing features!!!
You can pair more of these to one stream than you'll likely buy, something in the 60's or hundreds if I recall. I bought one Clip5 and two Go4's and all three are about the same weight as one Flip. Plus, if you add a nice carabiner, like I did, the Go4's clip to just about anything. The weight is negligible and by virtue of being "clipped" out in the open and not down in some cup holder (like the Flip 4/5/6 is most of the time), the sound ends up being just as good, if not better than multiple Flips. The only thing the Flips have is more bass, just based on watts and size.
For best results (in my experience):
1) Turn two on.
2) Start playing music. Whichever one plays is the "host". Keep this one with the phone streaming the music.
3) Turn the rest of the speakers on.
4) Click "Auracast" button on "host".
5) Click "Auracast" button on each "client" speaker.
6) Add any new speakers by turning them on and clicking their "Auracast" button.
CONS: If you invested in Flip Series 4, 5, 6... THOSE in particular are NOT compatible for "party" modes with these. Auracast is early technology.
PROS: Auracast is an industry standard for Bluetooth, so future devices will (should?) support the technology. Potentially, this will open the possibility to connect not only to other JBL devices but even devices from other vendors that support the Auracast stack. Time will tell.
